Sights, sounds & treasures of Pontremoli 🍃

Thanks to the Maffei family of @agriturismomontagnaverde, it was heartwarming to see the home of my great grandparents Gemma Galletti and Attilio Bastiani carefully restored to what it is today. Along with the home of former neighbour Antonietta Travaglini, the building is now contains beautiful rooms for the Agriturismo and the ‘I Fili della Memoria’ (Threads of Memory) museum dedicated to hemp cultivation and processing in Lungiana, a tradition and resource that played an important role in the rural life of the region. Thank you @barbaramaffei and collaborators for putting so much effort into making this place so unique and special. Today, you can find photos of my bisnonni inside the museum 👵🏼👴🏽❤️

Always a delicious lunch at @ilcapriolotavernelle 🍝🥩🥗☕️

Apella to Prada del Re. Retracing Nonno’s steps - taking it all in. This path is just the start of the Sentiero 114 that ultimately ends at the Giovarello Pass. We journeyed through the chestnut groves overlooking the village, reaching the 1,100m grassy peak of Prada del Re. The panorama is breathtaking.

Dove si mangia bene… @agriturismomontagnaverde

Una piccola fermata a Genova - Porto Antico - pesto, bottarga and a hot August day. Ora, i nonni sono partiti per l’Australia da questo porto più di 72 anni fa. My nonni left from the port of Genova for Australia over 72 years ago now. Surreal.

We made our way back to Italy after what seems like a long four years and were spoilt at @risoelatte in Milano - Cotoletta alla Milanese, Vitello Tonnato, Panna cotta e caffè. Delizioso.

Save the date! Sunday 22nd March - Cannoli & Cars with Coffee 🍰🚗☕️ with over 55 years of history the Toscana Social Club continues its tradition as the home of Tuscan culture and community in Melbourne. This time we welcome you. Bring your amici and come grab a sweet or two 😋
