Mario, you were one of a kind. Pioneer, entrepreneur, leader - just some of the words to describe how much you have done for everyone hailing from the small village of Apella, once forgotten and abandoned, and the entire Lunigiana region of Tuscany. You have showed and taught us so much, and your hard work has created something that will continue to grow and last forever @agriturismomontagnaverde.

Since the end of World War II, many villages and small towns in Italy have faced the threat of abandonment and decay. Apella and Taponecco seemed destined for the same fate until the vision and dedication of the Maffei family brought new life into this small corner of Toscana. An authentic day of food, family and culture - the annual Mirboo North Italian Festa was again a huge success in this small farming community, bringing together thousands to celebrate their heritage and all things Italian 🇮🇹 “viva gli italiani!”
